Land development & master planned communities
Cambay's portfolio includes residential and mixed use land development as well as commercial, office and industrial projects. Its now-completed Windemere master planned community in San Ramon is considered to be one of the most successful master planned communities in Northern California in its time. Applying its planning, entitlement and land development skills, Cambay added value to this 2,300-acre land asset, creating lots for approximately 5,000 residential units, 90 acres of parklands, five public schools and a branch campus of an award-winning community college. The development was sold to three major publicly-traded homebuilding companies, including one of the country’s largest multifamily residential builders.
Building on its success, the Cambay team has planned, entitled and is actively developing a new community, River Islands at Lathrop, California. River Islands is a 4,800+ acre mixed-use master planned community that is envisioned to bridge the housing and commercial needs of the greater San Francisco Bay Area with those of the Central Valley, creating a waterside environment comprising approximately 15,000 residences, 7 schools, two Town Centers, a major business park and extensive recreation amenities. The community opened its doors in 2014, and sells about 500 homes to year, with approximately 90% of those to people who lived previously in the Bay Area. River Islands has been named the Best-Selling Master Planned Community in Northern California and consistently ranks in the top 35 in the nation.
In addition to River Islands, the Cambay team is active on a large project in Reno, Nevada. Heinz Ranch, an 1800 acre development, is planned for residential, industrial and data center usage.
